Aluu4: Lloyd Toku Michael Buried




One of the Aluu4 murder victims, Lloyd Toku Michael, was buried yesterday in Port Harcourt. Llyod and three of his friends were brutally killed by a mob in Aluu community, Port Harccourt on Friday 5th of October after someone raised a false alarm calling them thieves.


Their killers are in police custody and will appear in court again sometime in December.

The Nigeria Labour Congress has warned the Goodluck Jonathan-led Federal Government against any surreptitious move to increase the price of petroleum products in the country. NLC President, Mr. Abdulwahed Omar, warned in a statement on Friday that any increase in the price of fuel would lead to a crisis as the congress would call out Nigerians to resist it. He warned that any increase in the prices of petroleum products would culminate in a crisis that would surpass the last January anti-fuel price hike demonstration.

71-Year-Old Kogi State Pensioner Threatens Suicide Over Unpaid Benefits




A 71-year-old man, Dr. John Oshagbemi, who claimed to be a former Director in the Kogi State Ministry of Education, has threatened to commit suicide over the refusal of the state government to pay him his retirement after disengaging from the service in 2005. Oshagbemi, who claimed he was a director in examination department of the ministry before retirement having put in the mandatory 35 years alleged that he was paid N100, 000 out of N3 million owed him by the state government as his entitlement.

Grammy award winning artiste, Keri Hilson has arrived in Nigeria. She flew into the country at about 5:20pm (Nigerian time). In her entourage, about 15, were her bodyguards, aides, back-up dancers and singers. She is Abuja as a guest star for the Face of Sofa (with Keri Hilson in concert) event, holding this weekend at the International Conference Centre in Abuja.
