Woman Crushes Corps Member To Death, Claims He Was Busy Pinging On The Road





The Ogun State police command yesterday [Jan. 10] arraigned a 52-year-old woman, Mrs. Kehinde Olubanke, before an Abeokuta Magistrate’s Court sitting in Isabo, for allegedly crushing a 28-year-old youth corps member to death. 
Olubanke was said to have committed the crime by driving and speeding dangerously in her Nissan Almera car, thereby causing the untimely death of the youth corps member identified as Egbe Ogbu, who was serving in the state.

Court Sacks Oyinlola As PDP National Secretary




A Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday sacked the National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and former Governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, from office. Oyinlola was ordered to vacate the office after the high court presided by Justice Abdul Kafarati, held that there was merit in a suit that was entered against him by Chieftains of the party in Ogun State. 

Residents Flee Gboko In Benue State After Boko Haram Kingpin Was Traced To Their Community




After a kingpin of the dreaded Islamic group, Boko Haram, Ali Jalingo, was trailed to Agase community, a suburb of Gboko in Benue state, residents of the community have fled their homes for fear of reprisal attacks. According to reports, the Boko Haram leader’s hideout in Agase was traced by security operatives who came in the midnight to pull down his hose but couldn’t arrest him. Residents said they were woken up by sounds of gunshot n the middle of the night.

The dispute between First Lady Dame Patience Jonathan and wife of late President Umar Musa Yar’adua, Turai, over a piece of land in the nation’s capital, is far from over as the out of court settlement on the matter has broken down. The land, 1.84 hectares, located at plot no. 1347 Cadastral Zone AOO, Central Business District, Abuja, FCT, was initially allocated to Women and Youth Empowerment Foundation (WAYEF) when Turai was the First Lady. 

Alao Akala Arraigned For Biting Off Journalist’s Ear




A 50-year-old man who bears the same name as a former governor of Oyo State was arraigned before an Abeokuta Magistrates’ Court for allegedly biting off the left ear of a journalist, Saheed Ganiyu. Alao Akala bit off Ganiyu’s ear when he was investigating the background of late political godfather of Kwara politics, Dr. Olusola Saraki. Another journalist, Rasaki Olayiwola was also reportedly hit on the head with a camcorder stand by the accused.
