Man gets One Month Imprisonment for Driving Vehicle With Tinted Glass




A Magistrates’ Court in Gusau on Friday sentenced one Aliyu Abubakar, 30, of Talata Mafara town for driving a tinted glass vehicle without permit.
The prosecutor, Cpl. Dalhatu Zalphania, told the court that on April 11, the accused was arrested while driving a tinted glass car, Golf salon, along Sani Abacha Way, Gusau, without permit.
The accused pleaded guilty.
The Magistrate, Hajiya Rabi Bashir, sentenced the accused to one month imprisonment or pay a fine of N1, 000.

Love Me Jeje Crooner, Seyi Sodimu loses older brother



Popular Washington DC Metro Police Officer and United States Of America Homeland security protocol officer, Ken Kayode Sodimu is dead. He was the elder brother to the Love Me Jeje crooner “Seyi Sodimu”.

Ken Kayode Sodimu, a former disc jockey who served as a great inspiration and played a key role to Seyi Sodimu’s music career passed on early Monday morning, April 8th, 2013 at the John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore Maryland, USA, after a protracted illness. He was 51.

Former deputy governor of Anambra state killed by kidnappers



First Deputy Governor of Anambra State and National Vice President of ACN (South East), Dr. Chudi Nwike, who was kidnapped on March 19, has been killed by his kidnappers.

Dr Nwike's corpse was found on Monday April 8th in the middle of the road leading to Alizomor community near Agbor in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, after the family had paid the kidnappers N5m ransom.

The late ACN chieftain served as deputy governor between 1991 and 1993, under former governor, Dr. Chukwu-emeka Ezeife. See ACN press release on Dr Nwike's murder after the break.

5 Injured As Soldiers, Civilians Clash Over Missing Cows





The Oyo State Police Command on Wednesday confirmed the death of a 13- year old boy who allegedly committed suicide when asked to go and read his books.
Speaking yesterday in Ibadan, police spokesperson, Olabisi Clet-Ilobanafor, a deputy superintendent of police, said the boy (name withheld), hung himself on March 31 at about 6.15 p.m.
Clet-Ilobanafor said that one Bamigboje Zachaus of E7/854, Aiyekale Agugu area of Ibadan, reported the incident to the police.

4 Policemen Arraigned For Allegedly Killing 2 Over N50




FOUR police officers were, yesterday, arraigned before a high court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State for allegedly killing two persons and shooting another in the foot over a failed attempt to extort N50 from a bus driver.
The suspects, ASP Omorogbe, Inspector Emmason Udo, Hadiza Musa and Samirah Ileya of the Abacha Road Police Station, Obia/Akpor locality of Port Harcourt were alleged to have shot the victims sometimes in 2010 while the driver of the commercial bus in which the victims were riding attempted to escape from the policemen who demanded N50 from him at a check point.
They were said to have been arrested on the orders of then Police Commissioner who insisted on their being tried for alleged killings.
