Jonathan, ASUU meeting: Varsity teachers still undecided.



The over 12 hours marathon meeting between President Goodluck Jonathan and striking members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities ended at about 3.30am on Tuesday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja without a commitment from the union members.

ASUU President, Dr. Nasir Isa Faggae, told State House correspondent that the delegation was taking back an undisclosed message to their members following which a decision will be taken on the union’s next line of action.
 “We have had a lengthy meeting with Mr. President, robbing minds on how best to address the problem of university education in this country. We now have a message from Mr. President that we are going to take to our members and we are expecting that our members will respond appropriately to his message,” he said.

Nigerian Police: Now Armed Wing of PDP
The Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) hereby registers its dismay that for the second weekend in a row, officers of the Nigeria Police illegally stormed and disrupted a meeting by seven governors and other Nigerians going about their constitutionally guaranteed rights of association.

The police action is not only alarming but also demonstrates clearly that the force, instead of carrying out its constitutional responsibilities of maintaining peace and order in the society has become no more than the armed wing of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Taraba speaker, Mr. Haruna Tsokwa is dead



The Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Mr. Haruna Tsokwa, is dead. He was said to own passed on in early hours of Saturday at the Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo.  Tsokwa, 47, took over the Speaker after the former speaker, Mr. Isa Ajiya, was impeached.

"Dead" Boko Haram Leader "Shekau" In A New Video, Says He Personally Led Damaturu Attacks.




The leader of Jama'atu Ahlis Sunnah Lidda'awati Wal Jihad, also referred to as Boko Haram, Imam Abubakar Shekau, on whose head United States place a $7 million ransom yesterday evening appeared in a fresh video, saying he personally led recent attacks in Damaturu, Yobe State on October 24th 2013.

A military source who watched the brand new video in Damaturu told SaharaReporters that, Imam Shekau boasted of overrunning Nigerian military, explaining that the sect will triumph over military and set up Islamic government under Allah's descriptions, despite Nigeria's government resistance.
